Materials

– 1 dozen Roses of any type – 1 Pair of scissors Sharp shears or scissors – 1 unit Flower Preservative see post for homemade cut flower food options

Step 1

Make sure you have a clean vase and add warm water. Add a flower preservative into the water and stir well. Sugar or soda are great flower preservatives. Both of these will act like food for the roses and provide nutrients.

Step 2

Remove all lower leaves from flowers so there won't be any in the water.

Step 3

Using a sharp knife or garden shears, cut 1 to 2 inches off the stems at an angle while they are underwater.

Step 4

Place roses into a vase and enjoy!
